Message From The Head of School

 

Dear Families,

We are delighted to let you know that as of August 10, Scott Kennedy will be our new Athletic Director.  Scott comes to French American and International from Mission High School in San Francisco, where he served as Athletic Director for 16 years.  Scott is the recipient of several leadership and coaching awards, including the California State Athletic Directors Association Athletic Director of the Year Award and the Positive Coaching Alliance National Double-Goal Coach Award, and we look forward to introducing him to our community as the athletic season and school year begin.

Order Your Team Gear:

Spirit packs, practice gear, game apparel, and additional athletic gear can be preordered now! People who order their gear by Thursday 8/13 will receive their gear at the Leadership Orientation on August 17th. Student-athletes who order after 8/13 will be able to pick up their gear at the Fall Athletics Orientation on August 19th, or during the school year. 3rd Annual Leadership Orientation

Monday, August 17th: 3rd Annual Leadership Orientation 

What is the Leadership Orientation?  

We will be kicking off the 2015-16 sports season and celebrating all high school Jaguar student-athletes at the 3rd Annual Leadership Orientation.  The day will be filled with activities led by our amazing coaches and guest speakers from Positive Coaching Alliance; team building activities, workout sessions with Mike Neal, and most importantly: fun! Please watch this video showcasing the great experience our Jaguars had in the past!

STUDENT-ATHLETES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND THE LEADERSHIP ORIENTATION, TRYOUT FOR SPORTS OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY ATHLETIC EVENTS WITHOUT COMPLETING ALL REQUIREMENTS (SEE BELOW FOR STEPS).

  • Who's invited: All high school student-athletes and coaches

  • When: Monday, August 17th (8:00am - 4:30pm

    • If you are not playing a Fall sport please make arrangements to be picked up at the gym at 4:30pm.

    • If you are playing a Fall sport you will go to your regularly scheduled practice upon return to school, please check your team schedule. Transportation to and from off campus locations provided.

  • Where: Meet at the Jaguar Den (150 Oak St, San Francisco CA 94102). We will provide transportation to and from the Point Bonita YMCA. After completion of Leadership Orientation pick up for student-athletes is at 150 Oak St.

  • What: We will provide lunch and an afternoon snack, but please bring your own healthy snacks, and eat a hearty, nutritious breakfast to prepare for a fun-filled day!

More details will be communicated as we near the start of the season.

Sign Up for HS Sports - Fall
Tryouts start on August 17th

In order to join a team, all steps must be completed prior to tryouts. Student-Athletes will not be allowed to participate in any activities including the Leadership Orientation until they are cleared on the Passport to Play. For those of you that have already signed up, please check the Passport to Play to review the status of your requirements.

  • Sign up here
  • Download and fill out the yearly required paperwork. Then turn them in with your uniform deposit ($500 check made out to International, postdated for June 1st, 2016) into the AthleticDepartment in Room 54, scan and email toathletics@internationalsf.org, or mail to: Jaguar AthleticDepartment, 150 Oak St., San Francisco, CA 94102
  • Check your status on the Passport to Play


High School Summer Opportunities

Work out with Mike this summer!

  • When: July 7 - 23 and August 11-20. Tuesdays and Thursdays,11am-1pm
  • Where: Performance Lab
  • What and Why: Get in shape and workout with our Performance Lab Coach, Mike Neal!

Open Gyms:

  • Basketball: Monday & Wednesday 6-8pm 
  • Volleyball: Friday 4-6pm

Sailing Bootcamps and Tryouts:

  • In order to tryout for the sailing team, a minimum hours of preseason training must be met. Click here for more information. 

 HS Fall Sports Orientation Night

All Fall sport parents and student-athletes, please join us for our Fall HS Sports Orientation as we outline season expectations, meet the coaches and athletic department.

  • SAVE THE DATE. Fall Parent/Student-Athlete Orientation on Wednesday, August 19th. Location MPR 5, 7-8:30pm.  If your son or daughter intends to play a fall sport please attend this meeting.
