New Family Logistics

Just as the school year approaches its conclusion our New Family Welcome cycle begins. In the coming weeks we will provide you with details of summer events, the buddy program, a playdate directory, class lists and logistics for starting school.

At the April 21 New Parent Welcome cocktail, each new family received a tote bag care package that included: an illustrated history of the school, La Lettre (our glossy magazine) and a T-shirt trimmed in the school colors for your child. If you missed the event please come to our 2nd floor office to pick up your bag.

All Page street families for 2016-17 will soon receive electronic copies of a temporary family directory, of both new and continuing families, that can be used, together with class lists, to manage play dates.

Before school starts we will assign user names and passwords for behind-the-scenes access to the school website. The e-mail will contain a link to a delightful and very informative podcast that will help you navigate and benefit from the various features. We will also post additional back to school items including: lunch information, Earthquake and Emergency Plan, Handbooks, Health updates and the like.

1155 Page Street Traffic Plan

Our Traffic Plan is essential reading for both new and returning Page Street families. Familiarity with the plan will do nothing less than inform your daily logistics and, hence, enhance your quality of life throughout the school year! We have revised start times and have updated policy for the Oak Street Shuttle and our staffed White Curb Zone.

Carpooling
Last year many parents used the school Directory to arrange carpools for the drop off and/or pick up at 1155 Page in September. This option is worth serious consideration. Carpooling has multiple virtues. It is green and saves a little money. It helps us reduce traffic impact in the neighborhood. It can be flexible and reciprocal. It is fun (very warm and fuzzy with young ones) and sociable.
