- 9 classrooms and a large multipurpose room, each with direct access to the outdoors
- Outdoor space that functions as an extension of the classroom--blurring the lines between work and play
- An appropriately-scaled environment to help develop confidence and independence
As Lower School Marie-Pierre Carlotti noted in her address during the groundbreaking ceremony one year ago, the Maternelle also positively impacts our older students with the transformation of the vacated space at 150 Oak Street into innovative classrooms, such as the new Design Lab, and could not be done without the generosity of donors.
[These new classrooms] encourage all students to apply their classroom knowledge in a hands-on way, improve the environment for our Middle School students, and create a welcoming community space for all families, from Lower School through High School.
Each piece of this project is integral to the overall student experience. These improvements to our campus will transform the business of teaching and learning and help us deliver power graduates, full of desire and ability to construct their own knowledge.
Our Maternelle is dependent on the kindness, not of strangers, but of the wonderful community of current and alumni parents who understand the importance and value of what we hope to achieve. We hope you will all be a part of our success.
