Board of Trustee
Laurie joined the Board of Trustees in July 2015. She is currently a member of the
Board Advancement Committee. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Laurie’s family
settled in San Francisco long ago. Her great-great-great grandfather was Charles
Stanyan, a city supervisor who helped establish Golden Gate Park.
Laurie has extensive experience working in financial management for nonprofit
organizations in the Bay Area. She now focuses on fund development, volunteering
at various San Francisco nonprofits helping to raise awareness and funds for causes
she cares deeply about.
When not volunteering she enjoys hiking, backpacking and traveling with her family. She has long loved San Francisco for its beauty, diversity and tolerance, and feels fortunate to raise her family in such a vibrant city. Laurie and her husband Brian are the parents of Kate '17 and Tessa '19, both of whom are “lifers” at French American and International. They have gained a great appreciation for other cultures through their education and travel experiences.
Laurie is a graduate of UCLA with a BA in Economics and she earned an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
