Paul joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 after serving for a year on the board's Facilities Committee. In addition to his ongoing role on the Facilities Committee, he is also a member of the Board of NCIS (National Council for International Schools, the real estate holding organization for the French American and the Chinese American International Schools). Prior to his committee involvement, he served as one of the Lower School co-chairs during the celebration of French American's 50th Anniversary and spent seven years as a board member of the National AIDS Memorial in Golden Gate Park.
He is currently a consultant to two architectural firms based in San Francisco -- Cavagnero Associates and Tom Eliot Fisch -- with an emphasis on educational, cultural and performance facilities. Recent projects include the new home of SFJAZZ and the restoration of the Palo Alto Art Center. Upcoming work includes the new Wilsey Center for Opera which will be located within the War Memorial Building at San Francisco's Civic Center. Prior to his current area of practice, Paul spent more than ten years providing design and facilities support to professional services and financial institutions; including the investment banks Robertson Stephens and Montgomery Securities, the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and the law firm Jones Day. Paul graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Environmental Design and is a 4th generation Northern California native.
Paul is eager to help French American continue to evolve in a thoughtful and forward-thinking manner that allows current and future students -- as well as their families -- to flourish.
Along with their son, Joseph '22, Paul and his husband Mike Sullivan live in the Cole Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.
