Carey was first introduced to French American in 2003 through Stanford’s Board Fellows program and the school’s leadership, academics and diversity left a lasting impression. Carey joined the Finance Committee in 2014 and the Board of Trustees in 2015.
Carey spent her early career in Equity Research at JPMorgan and Robertson Stephens. In 2002 she launched Girls on the Run of the Bay Area, a nonprofit that educates nearly 2,000 girls each year through its curriculum-based running programs, and served 10 years on the Board. In 2011 she co-created The Fifth Night Project, which became an annual program of the Jewish Community Federation's PJ Library. Carey is currently working on a new entrepreneurial venture.
Carey received a BA in History from Northwestern University and her MBA from Stanford Business School. Her coursework at Stanford included public management and education policy studies.
Carey and her husband, Noah, have three daughters, Bennett '25, Dylan '27 and Quinn '30.
