International Alum Reylon Yount '12 Recognized at Grammy Awards
Posted 02/15/2017 10:03AM

We're so proud to congratulate Reylon Yount, International '12 & Harvard '16, on his Grammy award win! Reylon was an IB music student with a focus on the yang qin, or Chinese dulcimer. He has been performing with Yo-Yo Ma & the Silk Road Ensemble on the album Sing Me Home, which just received a Grammy award for Best World Music Album.

Reylon talked to us about the IB program and his passion for music while a senior at International, bound for Harvard University. "The IB provides an amazing framework for studying art. I've been taking two years of IB music while playing a Chinese instrument called the yang qin, or Chinese dulcimer. When I got here, the music teacher bought a yang qin for the school so that I could play and, ever since, I've been pursuing this one unconventional passion that I absolutely love."
