Posted 10/03/2017 12:00PM

We are devastated by the tragic events that occurred in Las Vegas. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the communities in this country and around the world that are suffering. We understand it might be difficult to talk to your children about these events—here are some resources to help guide conversations.

Talking to Children About Tragedies (American Academy of Pediatrics)

Explaining the News to Our Kids (Common Sense Media)

Helping Kids After a Shooting (American School Counselor Association)

In the Aftermath of a Shooting: Help Your Children Manage Distress (American Psychological Association)

Our counselors are also here as a resource for students and families. Please don't hesitate to contact your school section counselor with questions or concerns.
