Posted 11/01/2018 12:38PM

We are proud to announce that eight International students have been named Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. The students receive a Letter of Commendation based on their high PSAT/NMSQT score. Only approximately three percent of PSAT test-takers are recognized with the honor, which is meant to denote outstanding academic promise.

The following students earned the Letters of Commendation:

Luke Arceneaux

Iona Clark

Katherine Horn

Diego Pierce

Corin Ropp

Julian Santesteban

Sarah Snyder

Maya Tsingos

"The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for NMSC. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."

Based on their score, some of these students may become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.

Congratulations, students!
