Symone, born and raised in San Francisco, started playing club volleyball at the age of nine and attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. There, she played three sports, earning a spot on the varsity volleyball squad sophomore year. Here, her team earned a CCS championship title.  At the age of fourteen, she played 18's for XLVB and finished her club career at SF Juniors.  After her successful high school and club career, she attended and played at St. Mary's College of California and majored in Political Science.

Coaching was the natural next step for Symone, as she started her high school coaching career as Varsity Head Coach at Terra Nova High School. In her inaugural year, her team ended the regular season with an undefeated league record going into CCS.  She also has been coaching at Frisco Bay Volleyball Club for three years and just returned from Junior National Championships with her 12’s team.  She is looking forward to an exciting new opportunity with the Jags and a successful year.

A summa cum laude graduate of Colgate University with a BA in English and Spanish, Michelle played four years of volleyball as an outside hitter for Colgate’s Division I volleyball program. As a captain her senior year, Michelle led Colgate to its first victory at the Patriot League Tournament in 13 years, culminating in competition at the NCAA tournament. During her time at Colgate she was named Patriot League Tournament MVP and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, in addition to being selected Patriot League Molten Player of the Week, making the All-Patriot League Academic Team, and being named to the Raider Volleyball Honor Roll four years running. Michelle competed at the highest levels of club and high school volleyball while growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. She is a great teacher of fundamentals and core volleyball skills and loves working with aspiring athletes to help them achieve their goals.

Coach G is a teacher first, fan second and a coach third. In her third year at IHS, she's happy to continue to support the volleyball program in whatever way possible. Coach G draws on my experiences from club volleyball and coaching at my previous schools to help guide our student-athletes while supporting the vision and mission of the program as a whole. "I value the relationships I build with my student-athletes and appreciate how those carry into the halls and my classroom".
